Quartz is a hard, crystalline mineral composed of silica (silicon dioxide).The purple variety of quartz is a form of amethyst. The colour is caused by tiny impurities of iron which are then altered by natural radiation to give the purple colour and the yellow colouring is also caused by heat changing the amethyst into citrine.
Approximately 100 beads that are between 9x6mm and 18x7mm in size.
